Aloha,
We want to share an important update about the agreement we reached with the State on November 18, 2025. As many of you know, we were given a very short window to clear Section 4 of our village by Thanksgiving in order to receive a six-month extension. Thanks to the hard work, heart and dedication of our residents, volunteers and supporters, we did it.
The eight days were intense and challenging, but every person who showed up made a difference. Some of you took time away from work, family and personal plans. Many simply came because they believe in this village and what we stand for. From all of us on the leadership team, mahalo nui loa - thank you very much. You helped protect our community and gave us the time we need to continue building a safe and stable home.
Now that Section 4 is complete, we are moving into the next phase of our agreement. Work is underway at the Mauka site (Farm Village) so our kūpuna and other residents can transition there safely. The ground is being graded, and fencing will be installed soon. This is part of our effort to be good neighbors to the families who live above us.
We also want to acknowledge the legacy of Mama (Twinkle Borge), whose guidance still shapes everything we do. Even a year after her passing, her vision keeps us moving forward. We are committed to carrying her work into the future and preparing the next generation of leaders within our village.
As part of our agreement, we will continue clearing one section each month. To help us keep momentum, we are asking for basic supplies that make the work possible: 3 MILL contractor/construction grade garbage bags and gloves. Donations can be dropped off at the main entrance to the village, located behind Spinners Café at the Waiʻanae Boat Harbor, if needed please message us here.
To everyone who believes in Puʻuhonua o Waiʻanae, thank you for standing with us. Your support reminds us that we are not alone. With faith, unity and hard work, we will continue to protect our home, honor Mama’s legacy and build a stronger future for our village and community.
Mahalo!
