As you may have heard, due to the federal government shutdown, SNAP benefits (“Food Stamps”) will not be distributed in November. Many of our 200+ residents rely on SNAP to feed their families, so we are working quickly to restock the Puʻuhonua O Waiʻanae Food Pantry.
If you’re able to kōkua, we are especially in need of:
• Canned goods (meats, vegetables, fruits)
• Cup noodles
• Rice
• Peanut butter and jelly
These are the staples our people need most. Our pantry also supports others in the wider community — both houseless and housed — so any surplus will be shared beyond the village.
Donations can be dropped off at the main entrance to the village, located behind Spinners Café at the Waiʻanae Boat Harbor.
If no one is there to receive your donation, please call:
Kala – (808) 452-3325
Queenie – (808) 452-3290
Billy Rose – (808) 382-1205
Any contribution helps. Mahalo nui for your aloha and support!
